IND - The airport is located 7 miles (11km) from Indianapolis and 5 miles (8km) from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Travel time to downtown Indianapolis takes 15–25 minutes. This airport serves Indianapolis, Indiana. IND handles 8 million passengers annually. The airport handles 1300 commercial and 600 air taxi operations daily. The airport has one main terminal with four concourses: A, B, C, and D The airport has 3 runways. The runways are from 7,600 feet to 11,200 feet in length. The airport opened in 1931 and at that time it was called “Weir-Cook Airport”. The airport was officially named after the city of Indianapolis. Walking time. It takes 5–10 minutes to get from one end of the terminal to the other. There are different parking options. Two short term parking options are available. Garage parking is free for the first 30 minutes and $1.50/hr after that. Surface Parking is $4.00 for the first one-hour and $1.50 per half hour increment. Long term parking options are form $6.50 to $9/day with shuttle service available.
Restaurants and bars are available throughout the airport and there are also numerous fast-food outlets and coffee shops in all terminals. Lost and found information can be obtained through the airlines. There is no chapel or kid’s play area at the airport. The airport does not have an emergency room.
